Starr Battle Creek is once again having their Super Starr Reading Camp this summer! This is a summer reading adventure for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade and is designed to strengthen reading and writing super powers! Thanks to the amazing donors who support Starr Commonwealth, we are able to provide this camp to students in the community completely FREE! Camps are open to children in Calhoun County and will include a morning snack and lunch. Starr Battle Creek is considered a free lunch site, so students and community members are able to get a healthy meal over the summer.
This year, there will be three sessions running Mondays through Thursdays. The dates of each session are:
- June 1 3- June 30
- July 11 – July 28
- August 8 – August 25
Our staff has already begun developing the curriculum and informing the local schools of camp dates, and we are excited to get as many kids as possible in each session! Last year, there were 51 students who participated in Camp Ready Readers. This year, we are hoping to beat that number!
